Events & Fees
The 42.2 km marathon and the 10km race will start and finish in Somaliland’s capital city, Hargeisa. These are semi-supported events with basic medical provision and drinks at each of the stations along the routes. The registration fees for the marathon and the 10km race are the same and are as follows:
* for international runners living and working outside of the Horn of Africa: $200;
* for international runners, living within the Horn of Africa: $100; and
* local runners: $1 or 10,000 Somaliland Schillings.

Kindly note that the international entry fees help fund the event and subsidise local entry fees.
Both races will be held in early 2020.
Participants of both races will receive a high-quality technical running t-shirt and a medal with the race logo.
Race Cut-Off Time:
Race cut-off time will be five hours for the marathon ie all runners must have crossed the line 5 hours after the start. This is to ensure that the route is cleared for city traffic.
Route:
The route for the marathon will head 21 km east of Hargeisa along a paved road and return the same route. The start/finish will take place in Hargeisa stadium. The 10km race will head 5km along the same paved road and back again. The routes are relatively flat and races will start early to avoid the mid-day heat.
